It is with great sadness that I report that Bob Coble has died .

Retired Master Sgt. Robert Alan Coble, 57, beloved husband of Susan Morton Coble, died on Friday, Sept. 16, 2011, at his home.

Coble was born on Oct. 11, 1953, and was a son of Virginia Coble and the late Thomas Coble Jr. He enjoyed family trips to the beach, traveling and hunting. He liked spending time with his children and will be remembered as a loving son, husband, father, grandfather and friend to all.

Surviving in addition to his wife are four sons, Paul Michael Coble of New Mexico, Jonathan Travis Coble of Sumter, Christopher Robert Coble and his wife, Angela, of Montana, and Nickolas Scott Coble of Sumter; two sisters, Nancy Merchant and her husband, Curtis, of Easley, and Anne Coble of Greenville; and two grandchildren, Cooper Coble and Molly Christopher Coble.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Monday in the Bullock Funeral Home Chapel with full military honors.

Memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 5000 Thurman Mall Drive, Columbia, SC 29201 or the American Brain Tumor Association, 8550 W. Bryn Mawr Ave., Suite 550, Chicago, IL 60631.
