The Thunder Bird was the focus of Keith Ferris' magnificent 25-foot by 75-foot mural at the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum. Ferris does more than paint airplanes. He researches and documents on canvas historic events.

When Fortress Under Fire debuted a mother took her son to see it. She explained that the father he never knew was killed flying B-17's. Looking closer, she was shocked,"That IS your father flying that bomber".
